Ground Source Heat Pumps Ground source heat pumps take heat from the ground and use it to provide heat for radiators, underfloor heating and hot water. They are efficient, providing up to 4kW of heat for every 1 kW used. Ground Collector. At a depth of 800mm the ground temperature is constant all year round. Ground source heat pumps extract heat from the ground and can transfer it to your home or office. If you have enough ground area horizontal collectors can be used.
